The bicycle travel festival Ciclomundi reaches its third edition in 2010. This year, the festival, a celebration of the bicycle and of the idea of slow movement, shifts its centre of gravity, by moving its venue from Portogruaro to the Terre di Siena [Siena’s lands]. Thousands of pedal pushers will converge on Siena to meet each other on September 24, 25, and 26.
Ciclomundi is a celebration for two-wheeler enthusiasts, with a programme that covers the entire spectrum of the attraction of bicycle travel: there will be theme meetings, workshops to discuss the practical aspects and philosophy of slow travel, shows, and various occasions to share experiences among travellers, writers, enthusiasts, and (why not?) unaware “slow travellers”.
The bicycle will be celebrated and discussed through art, culture, and shows, with the contribution of its frequent and passionate users, among them singers, actors, famous writers, philosophers, and sociologists who will come to talk about their relationship with the bicycle.Text from Terre di Siena web side
