The restaurant "Il Piccolo Castello"

The restaurant "Il Piccolo Castello" is enclosed within the Castle of Monteriggioni It is soberly furnished in a rustic style and seats 100 people inside and 50people in the garden which looks onto the walls of the castle. A particular atmosphere is created by the combination of antique Tuscan dishes, home-made pasta, truffles, game, charcoal grilled meats and the magnificent view of the medieval walls. A special menu exalts the produce of the Tuscan countryside during the festival of the white Truffle from October to December and the festival of the Antique Recipes from February to April. In winter the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays. It is always open in summer. It is advisable to reserve.



"Il Piccolo Castello" restaurant is enclosed in the heart of the medieval fortress of Monteriggioni, on a hill near San Gimignano, Siena and Florence. It's fourteen towers are the defense symbol of an old, rich and beautiful territory, full of wineyards olive trees and old farmhouses.

The owners take care of any details in order to enrich the simple and antique recipes, and the more elaborated ones, trying to present the best quality products to their customers, such as the coppetta di pane with taglierini al tartufo, the small spiced pieces of bread or the buttery ice-cream prepared every day with fresh fruit.
